Game Studies1 Project 2: Tabletop gameplay

 Tabletop gameplay

To do:

Refine alpha game framework:

  1. Redesigning the board
  2. Refine some of the game's mechanics

Process:

I redesigned the board I designed on the box on Canva and got the following design drawings while keeping the restaurant and company unchanged.
We divide the power card into two parts: one is the power card that needs to be used immediately, and the other is the secret card that can be temporarily saved and used when needed.

The game mechanism has been improved by keeping the restaurant's intake and changing the company's intake to spend so that players can better understand the game.
We shared our board game with other groups in class and asked them to critique our game mechanics.

Here is their feedback, and I will give feedback based on their feedback.

Based on their feedback, we improved the model's shortcomings, which was the time. We set the time to 45 minutes and calculated how many glucions were left after the end.

Reflection:

In this design, I think the settlement mechanism of the game is one of our major weaknesses. Because in the game, we think that 45 minutes pass quickly and the game is over when we seem to continue playing. So when people are fascinated, they often forget the victory mechanism of the game and turn to buying real estate, resulting in very few glucions in their hands, although they are leading in real estate in the game. So I think we need to make good use of precious time in the game.
